Thirappanne – Anuradhapura – Thirappane

An ancient tree

A truly special place awaits you today. At Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s first capital city witness the significant influence that Buddhism has had on this millennia-old city and its transformation into this spiritual abode. Leave this venerable place with a blessing near the oldest tree in the world. Back at the hotel, allow the the chefs of the Ulagalla Resort to give you a few tips or two with a cooking demonstration

Day 3


Thirappane – Habarena - Diyakapilla – Ritigala - Thirappane

A glimpse into the Bhuddist world

Each morning at dawn buddhist monks leave their temples and walk the village begging for food. You will witness such a traditional ritual today at the temple in Habarana. A personal interaction with a serving monk can be organized for, giving you an opportunity to exchange ideas and hold discourses. Attend a Bana ceremony whereby a monk instructs you on the teachings of the Buddha. At the Ritigala Nature Reserve you will learn all about the plant world used in the science of Ayurvedic medicine.

Thirappane – Sigiriya - Teldeniya

New perspectives

A brilliant and unique way to see Sri Lanka is from the sky, atop a hot air balloon. Float over elephants, over fields, soar over farmers going about their daily lives and watch the serene atmosphere come to life with the first rays of the rising sun. Later in the day climb the Sigiriya Rock on the top of which stands an incredible fortress. Let the scenery and impressions work it’s charm on you as you drive to your next wellness resort.

Today is all about you and your well-being. A session of yoga and meditation in the morning will help you start your day on a calm and mindful note. Enjoy the peace and quiet on your own or join a group hike along the river should you want some company.

Pure Spiritualität

In Kandy haben Sie heute die Gelegenheit einen der bedeutendsten buddhistischen Tempel zu besuchen. Überlieferungen besagen, dass in diesem Tempel der linke Eckzahn Siddhartha Gautamas aufbewahrt wird. Dreimal täglich kommen die Mönche hier für eine ganz besondere Zeremonie zusammen, die von Trommeln und dem Duft nach Lotusblüten begleitet wird. Ein unglaubliches Erlebnis! Im Anschluss daran werden Sie mit einem der Mönche meditieren – pure Spiritualität.

Anschließend geht es hoch in die mystischen Teaplantagen.

Tea Time, my Dear!

Allow yourself to sleep in a bit and later enjoy a fantastic breakfast. After having powered up you will walk through the tea plantation with a member of staff and learn all you need to know about tea. The rest of of the day is at leisure; enjoy the soothing atmosphere  and appreciate the culinary delights that this region has to offer.

Hatton – Kotugoda

All's well that ends well

Instead of taking the long drive back, we recommend the short flight with Cinnamon Air. The views over the green tea terraces from the seaplane are stunning . Make the best of your remaining time in Sri Lanka by treating yourself to a soothing massage or by doing a few laps in the pool.
