Day 1


Bangkok

Bangkok

Venice of the East

Lie in a little longer this morning and stay tucked in under fluffy duvets and soft pillows before enjoying a fantastic breakfast by the river. Shortly after, head out on a kayak to explore the many channels that meander through this "Venice of the East".  Many of the locals live on the water which is also the preferred mode of transportation. The river offers a unique and completely new perspective of Bangkok as your kayak drifts past temples, orchards, floating markets, traditional wooden houses and ancient settlements. Enjoy lunch later with a glass of champagne in hand to gorgeous views of the Wat Arun temple. After this exciting excursion you will return to your luxury retreat where you can privately engage with a yoga teacher and help tune your body and mind into balance.

Day 3


Bangkok-Ayutthaya

Once the biggest city in the world

After a hearty breakfast you will make your way to Ayutthaya, the historical capital of Thailand. A UNESCO World Heritage site, Ayutthaya was once the largest city in the world. Take a tuk-tuk ride and see its remarkable temples and listen to the fascinating stories of the glorious years of this city and its eventual fall at the hands of the Burmese.

 In between your temple forays this morning you will learn more about the life of the locals, try "Floss-Roti" - a local specialty, stroll through an energetic market and see the Muslim Quarter. The afternoon can be spent cozying up in a nice longtail boat and relishing the view. Your second hotel on this leg of your journey is the amazing boutique hotel Sala Ayutthaya. This luxury property is an effective mix of classic Scandi style coupled with rustic elements and because it overlooks the historic old town, it makes for an interesting hotel experience.

Ayutthaya-Sukhothai

Coffee and Rice

Today we head further north to Sukhothai. Enroute you will visit the Phra Prang Sam Yot temple in the old town of Lop Buri. This landmark is a remnant of the Khmer era now inhabited by wild monkeys. Somewhere along the way you will have the joy of relishing a fresh brew of coffee with views of lush green rice fields. Feeling reinvigorated, you will now visit the historical park of Sukhothai with its age old temples and impressive Buddha statues. A pleasant evening at the beautiful Sriwilai Sukhothai boutique hotel awaits you.

Day 5


Sukhothai

The art of floats and noodle making

Do something culturally exciting today and learn how to fashion a beautiful Krathong float and pick up some tips on how the famed Sukhothai noodle is made. On the festival of Loi Krathong, the Thai festival of light, hundreds of Krathong floats made out of banana leaves and adorned with flowers, candles and incense sticks are released on lakes and rivers to wash away past sins and bring good fortune in the coming year. It is time now to get your hands dirty and don an apron and take charge of the wooden spoon. Your personal chef will reveal to you the secret of traditional Sukhothai Noodle making which you can then shortly try out for yourself. Bon Appetit!

Day 6


Sukhothai-Chiang Mai

The Villa of Great Joy

North of Thailand lies the charming town of Chiang Mai. This is your stop today and you will embark on a spiritual exploration of its temples and pagodas; of which the Wat Phra That Doi Suthep located in the mountains outside of Chiang Mai is a special highlight. Appreciate the spiritual atmosphere, let yourself be carried away and admire the view over the city in the distance. Receive your very own blessing for health and happiness from a resident monk and wind the day in the spirit of mindfulness listening to the singing of devotional songs.

Chiang Mai

Get your Fisherman's Pants on

What does a day in the life of a Thai person look like? Why don’t you try if for yourself today? Of course, you also require the corresponding outfit, the comfortable cotton trousers or the "Fisherman's Pants", which are worn by the locals.

Just outside Chiang Mai in Hang Dong, you will interact with Mr. Prapat and his family; here is a genuine opportunity to explore a traditional Thai home and the unique traditions of everyday life. Try basket weaving or / and cook a traditional northern Thai meal with ingredients plucked fresh from the garden. Lunch today is a family affair over good company and delicious homemade food.  Later in the afternoon you will learn more about Hang Dong and the rural atmosphere.

Chiang Mai-Chiang Rai

Our journey today brings us to Chiang Rai and to the fabulous Pa Sak Tong Estate - a secluded space surrounded by rice fields, flowering gardens and idyllic ponds. Start your day today on a very relaxed note. Try a bit of meditation on your private terrace. After a fortifying breakfast, hike into the bright green landscape, past tea and teak plantations, rice fields and dense forests. Feel how energizing and revitalizing nature can be. In the afternoon, head out on the Mekong by boat and explore Sop Ruakwhere Laos, Myanmar and Thailand meet to formThe Golden Triangle. The vibrant city of Mae Sai is a cultural diversion due to its unique location on the border with Myanmar. There is much to see as you pass by fishing boats, small villages on the riverbank and the breathtakingly beautiful nature.

Chiang Rai

Gentle Giants

The beautiful gardens of the Pa Sak Tong provide a perfect backdrop for a morning yoga session. Read a good book, listen to the sounds of nature and revel in the luxury of not doing anything.  This afternoon you will visit the first elephant shelter in Chiang Rai which was set up to rescue elephants exploited in the lumbering business. Here in the camp these gentle giants are given protection and a chance to live out their old age in peace and comfort. In the evening treat yourself to a fantastic Thai-style dinner accompanied by traditional dancing.

Day 11


Chiang Rai-Bangkok-Phuket

The Choice is yours

Meditate this morning on the terrace of your beautiful hotel and reflect on the experiences that you have lived out so far. After a delicious breakfast, you will be transferred to Chiang Rai Airport for your flight to Bangkok.
